While having reboots, they're less frequent than on .314; curiously, they happen most often a while after I stop using my device. I think it doesn't like to be put in a pocket.

And I would also like to thank Raptor464 for his investment into this.

So far, this has been the best of the 5.x OS's for me (230/314/348).

It boots up slower than .314 did but otherwise most everything seems positive:

- Profile settings retain between reboots (wouldn't in 314)
- can install .jad files from SD card again (wouldn't in 314)
- no reboots with 2G, 3G or 2G&3G (had to keep on 3G only in 314)

Negatives:
- calendar appts can be a pain to set, changing time changes date (314 did this also)
- slower bootup

Too early to assess:
- battery life (I was on 3G only on 314)
- memory leaks

Reboots aren't as frequent as with .314 but it's still annoying. Back to .238 for me.

No reboot issues so far. Just doing EA with my BES.

318 was a reboot legend. Hopefully this is better.

Default New activation with BES Server

Guys, this maybe a trivial question, but is there anyway I can retain my BES server activation - between OS upgrades?

My IT guys want to throttle me each time, as our BES is outsourced... and requires tickets and so on...

Can I save this as a backup item, and then restore after my next upgrade?

Could the 9700 Service Books which must be out now remedy this?

I doubt it...there is a module, specifically net_rim_bb_sbinjector_lib.cod, that reads the sim card, determines the carrier, and injects service books for that carrier from a library or service books, when the device is first initialized. I'll give it another go, now that 9700 service books are probably being pushed down.

In a word? No.

Well, touch wood, but I'm not having the random reboots like I had with the previous release.

If your desktop manager is configured for BES (not BIS) then the activation happens automatically after an upgrade.

You can tell this by whether or not your desktop manager will allow you to choose a PIM and select the "Synchronize" option. If you are on BES, it will not let you sync locally. You might just need to reinstall the desktop manager and you shouldn't have to contact IT to activate.

I guess what I was really saying is that this if the first official push of 5.0 OS service books by ATT so maybe it works. Who knows. Thanks for your experimentation.
