Default Os 6 Gps

Does anyone have a clue if RIM will implement the GPS feature like the iPhone where certain apps can enable it but it will turn off as soon as they close? I use lots of apps that use the GPS but I cant leave it on because it uses too much battery power.

Well Google Maps does this whenever it goes into background on OS 5 (reverting to cell tower based positioning). I think this may be an OS thing. I see the accuracy go from a ring to a dot shortly after I but the app back to forgound - every time.

Is there something that makes you believe that the GPS on the BlackBerry operates other than as you have already described?
