I find if you move across the trackpad fairly quickly down then up again the cursor sort of comes alive and show's up fairly quickly in contacts. The memory hasn't affected me but I don't tend to have a lot of things installed.
The LinkedIn app reports a network error when I start it but actually works when I dismiss the error (which takes a few tries).
I wish there was a way to remove one or more of the 'folders' like Downloads as I really think they are a pain. I would like to be able to 'lock' onto a folder. Maybe I just haven't found the setting yet.
My 9700 lately has been 'seeing' my microSD card lately, then reporting it 'removed' even when nothing has changed. Hardware?? Tried changing memory cards. | Offline

| Re: Leaked 9700 OS 6.0.0.424 Seems to me that RIM could easily have addressed all of the issues plaguing OS6 on the 9700, to at least get it to where the 9780 is. Also seems to me that the issues are there by design in some way - to increase sales of the 9780 now. Those of us who love the 9700 with OS6 but aren't willing to wait it out, have purchased a 9780...and I believe this is what RIM is/was counting on. How could they release an official OS6 for the 9700 that's so badly hindered by bad code, on a device that is almost identical to one that while isn't perfect, has far less inadequacies?

| Re: Leaked 9700 OS 6.0.0.424 Anyone have an issue with calendar invites on BES? I seem to have this issue that calendar invites show up as regular emails...and I am unable to accept or reject them. Basically it is almost like the invite is broken.

| Re: Leaked 9700 OS 6.0.0.424 Nope - works for me. Are you sure you're activated on the BES? Even when a BB isn't on BES and an appointment comes in from exchange, it should still show up as a calendar appt. Are you sure BES 4.1 works correctly with OS6? We're on BES 5.1.

I, for one, won't pay for what I think is a minor upgrade to the 9780 especially when I paid good money not that long ago for the 9700.
If (when) it comes time to make the change it will probably be to an Android handset and I think there's more like me thinking that way.
The reason I still live with my BB is I really don't have the need for anything beyond push email and decent SMS. The BB "just does it well".
Dealing with the browser, even with OS6, is just too painfull. In my opinion...

| Re: Leaked 9700 OS 6.0.0.424 That - I would agree with...
Anyway, who knows what the real reasons are - I will say, that the 9780 OS isn't without issue either...it has plenty of them, albeit the cursor isn't one of them. I do not believe that they simply overlooked the cursor issues on the 9700 OS release...it is so damn apparent to the software engineers...I just can't accept "oversight" as an excuse. Every single 9700 with OS6 does it.

Remember to read the complete post.
I always whipe my phone before installing a new OS. But remember if u don't know what you're doing Don't.
Remember, please try searching first! The answer to most problems are answered already.
And ofcourse the cursor disapering problem is. Made by RIM to boost the sale. That's so obvious. I have already 5 friends that switched 2 the newer cause they hate the cursor prob. On the other hand! RIM I got the time baby. If I want touch screen I go iPhone or emo. So since RIM is fckng with a stuppid cursor I'm willing to trow my 8 years experience away with a new mindset. I'm thingking 2 switch to elppA Yeah the forbidden phone. But emo is also cool :/.

| Re: Leaked 9700 OS 6.0.0.424 My 2 cents:
things i like:
The new menu system in options
Instant search - awesome!
"Today" drop down at top of home screen
Manage connections etc at very top of home screen
All my os5 apps work!
New browser is freckin awesome
New camera software - mainly ability to turn off preview after taking a photo
Application management - see whats using what memory & cpu etc - not sure if this was there before, but I have just found it, and love it
Dislikes:
Scrolling through facebook news feed, the cursor dusappears then randomly comes back, when it comes back, it scrolls really quickly down the news feed
Memory leaks - not too much that I have noticed so far, but its more than os5
Other thoughts:
Boot up time is still ages - but I never turn it off
All the sounds have changed - now I have to learn my txt / email tones
Overall, seems to be good so far - installed 3 hrs ago. | Offline
