Since I have installed this one I constantly lose the connection to the BES (and with this also my internet connection). Very often I look at the phone and I see 3G but the 4 dots are missing...

The problem must be particular to your phone - I'd suggest you do a full wipe and reload. We have several on this OS and there aren't any of the issues you mention on any of them. While the OS is far from perfect, it works well.

Its really simple.

Uninstall any other bb os you have installed on your pc, reboot, install this os, goto C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and delete vendor.xml

close desktop manager

Plug your berry in, open app loader, and follow the prompts - when it prompts for a backup, always select this!

Process takes around 30 mins to complete.
