Leaked 9650 OS 6.0.0.466 |
Re: Leaked 9650 OS 6.0.0.466 Installing this one now. Saw a lot of chatter about the text message icon disappearing, even after multiple battery pulls. I never used the icon anyway, but fingers crossed. |
Re: Leaked 9650 OS 6.0.0.466 I've been running this for about 18 hours now. Text message icon never disappeared, and I didn't get the java errors others are reporting either. In fact, no issues whatsoever. OTOH, despite using BBSAK I cannot find the .CODs for the intro video to delete them. I swear I remember seeing 'em last night immediately after install, but when I looked this morning they are gone. I deleted the included music video and song, but I wouldn't think that would take care of the intro video too.... |
Re: Leaked 9650 OS 6.0.0.466 So I am having the same issue as everyone else with the disappearing Text Message icon, but I don't ever use the icon anyway since I have my messages integrated with my Messages app. I have found something very strange, though, with text messages getting, well, not really doubled, but will have multiple text convos with the same person, and I *think* it's related to the new BBM. For example, I have 3 people as text message contacts in BBM since I text with them a lot, and their messages also show up in my Messages app. Let's say I send them a text, and they reply. If I reply back to them after opening their message in BBM, then I get a 2nd convo with them. If I reply back to them after opening their message from the Messages app, then I still only have 1 convo with them. Very strange....and didn't do that before the upgrade, so I'm not sure if it's the OS or BBM. |

My main problem, not the phone's fault, is I'm getting older and want a bigger screen so I don't have to hold it increasingly further away to be able to focus. A CDMA Torch, with or without a touch screen, would be ideal for me. |
Re: Leaked 9650 OS 6.0.0.466 I like this release. I put it on yesterday and it does seem snappier than the official release. One thing I found in the browser is that it zooms way better than the previous version. The redraw of the screen happens more quickly. You can also make the browser go to page be "Thumbnail View", which, like a Droid or Chrome or other browsers, gives you a little thumbnail of the page instead of the list. Cool if you like that. I had text messages set to switch to MMS if I typed too long. I don't know if it was in the previous version, but I now have it set to stay in SMS if text only. It then will pack together up to 7 160 character messages for you. If it was there in the past, I missed it. Ooops. For me, this is way better this way because our corporate plan has unlimited SMS for Blackberries, but MMS aren't included. |
