| Re: Trouble Downloading Firmware Please Login to Remove! It is nonsense. Most, if not all Anti-Virus software will advise you that the file you are attempting to download may be harmful. Do you want to do it anyways.
After the file has been downloaded and you open it, you will get another warning. This file...blah blah blah....usually get the option to open in some type of sandbox environment or cancel the pending action(s) Files get tagged by various AV software all the time. Also, I notice from your post that you got a big honking notification about that file.
There is no way you can download a 245MB file and have it just disappear into the ether.

| Re: Trouble Downloading Firmware OK, guys, I have downloaded and installed BitTorrent. However, I do not know how to use it since I have never downloaded a torrent file before. Seems a bit complicated to me, and I wonder why download through torrent client and not through the usual way. | | Offline

There is no way you can download a 245MB file and have it just disappear into the ether. | i didnt get any notification. but im not an idiot and been doing this for a long time, norton scanned and removed the file silently without any notification. i had to open nortons to see what i showed you. I downloaded it like any other file and told google chrome to keep it. when the file was done i opened it on the bottom of chrome like always but instead of opening it said the file was removed. im just saying that nortons removed the file by itself, without any dialogs i could of prevented it from happening. and if someone doesnt know anything about computers it could confuse them, thinking it was placed in the wrong folder. | | Offline

Most A/V products are a complete pile of dogshit. I use a Fortigate firewall with Fortiguard services that block viruses/ and do web/e-mail filtering at the firewall level. Not a cheap solution, but much more effective than local AV software. I hate what AV software does to an OS...really butchers performance badly. Then, I also use a MAC...and never really worry about viruses much --
I run VM4 with Windows Ultimate 64 bit in it...only for the few apps that need Windows and have no MAC equivalent.

After downloading my computer copies from the temporary file to my specific destination folder which I am absolutely certain, yet opening that folder I see no icon. There is something wrong here. If I cannot resolve this matter, at least I have .190, which works fine for me. | | Offline

| Re: Trouble Downloading Firmware Aha, I just noticed the reason why: Norton removed it. I did not notice it earlier because the pop-up window on the lower right was not there when I saw it. I think that I may have just came back too late before the window disappeared.
OK, so now the next step: how do I enable Norton to accept this download? | | Offline

| Re: Trouble Downloading Firmware I don't use Norton, but you should be able to right-click on the Norton icon in your system tray and select Disable.
