In terms of result, most of the time no, sometimes yes. I've had one occasion where alt-caps-del did not correct a glitch and a hard reset did. I do the soft reset when there's an issue and only a hard reset when necessary. I almost never do a hard reset.

I noticed these newer blackberrys don't really have a latching type battery lid and removing it constantly will make it loose.j

I should have also added above that I've done the double soft reset. Not often, but once or twice when the soft reset didn't work. That may be why I've avoided battery pulls except maybe one time.

Seriously, if one is having to do battery pulls, something is wrong and it needs to be corrected. Just my opinion.

I heard the more apps you have, you should get in the habit of doing a battery pull regularly to either free up memory or get the little bugs cleared. Is this wrong?

I wouldn't worry about things that aren't happening or haven't happened to you yet, if that happens to be the case.

I can only speak for myself. I never turn my BlackBerry off except on airplanes. I don't have an app to do scheduled daily resets. I've done maybe one full fledged battery pull with this 9700. I have had to do soft resets occasionally.

My experience is similar to what aiharkness reports. The 9700 was particularly good, the 9800, so far, is as good. The 9000 seemed to need more soft resets, but that could have been my fault since I run software I've developed on my Blackberry before distributing.

I recommend using Quickpull. It's a free app in BB App World.
