I bought the BB Bold 9700 on eBay. As I've heard there are major issues with Pin releases when u buy on eBay I told the seller to release the PIN from his provider (o2). He called the customer service and apparently deactivated the account. I want to use o2 too. Yet now when I want to create new BIS account with o2 (after putting PIN and IMEI) I get the message THE ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SUSPENDED/DEACTIVATED.

Does that mean that i am not able to use that PIN/phone anymore?
Dont want to pay a lot of money for something I am not able to use.

Please help.

Sounds like the seller has an outstanding balance with his provider (o2) and the PIN is locked out. I suggest you NOT continue with this BlackBerry and get your money back.

So if everything would be fine i.e no outstanding debt i wouldnt get any message and could activate my account?
So if someone release PIN correctly and there are no problems I would just go on and set new account with this PIN even without having the phone.

Sorry for stupid questions yet I never owned bb before and I am just scared of buying something I cannot use.

I am 99% sure that once the account is marked as suspended/deactivated, you can't activate it at all.

Can I set up a new BIS account on PC or do i need to do it via BB?

The PIN must be released by the seller, who has to call the carrier.

Set up the account on the carrier's BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) website. I normally use a PC.
