Default Backup Contacts w/o Plugging into Computer?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all!

I have an 8330 and the input connection on the BB that allows me to plug it into my computer is broken.
It's time for an upgrade anyways, but I am in dire need to be able to get access to all my contacts.
How can I back them, or sync with Outlook, or anything that allows me to save them off the BB without physically connecting it to a computer?

Thanks!!

You could try backing up over the air using an app such as http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/2749

OR

BlackBerry App World - Backup (OTA Data Backup Restore)

Both applications allow you to restore to the new device.

If you have bluetooth on the computer, you can enable bluetooth in desktop manager, set things up and pair the two, and do backups and sync's.

You may have the option with your carrier to do remote backups. I have the option but haven't done it, so can't advise on the details.

Or you could sync your contacts with your google account, for instance, if you have one.

EDITS:

I see the remote backup feature in address book options. In my case at least, it looks like all there is to turning it on is to respond Yes to enable and click next. As I say, I haven't done it and so don't know any more about it.

Also, you might run the BIS app and take a look at the settings for your email. One or more may offer the setting to syc contacts. Yahoo does, and I'm sure Google will.

Sync with Google contacts and calendar, assuming that you have a BB data plan.
