Default Is BB hijackable?

Please Login to Remove!

My girlfriend has a BB Storm (i think im not a phone person). The last few days i have been receiving texts from her phone # but she swears they are not from her and i believe her, she figures it is an old boyfriend that is bitter about a breakup. Is it possible to hijack the phone and send/receive texts (regular texts not bbm) from another phone? I think she uses university wifi for her internet when shes at home (if thats possible). If it is possible she has some virus/trojan on her phone how easily fixable is it?

There are no know viruses or Trojans for the BB, yet. If so it would be all over the news.

What might have happened is that someone spoofed her email address or phone number. If these are harassing type messages, then she should go to the police and report it. There are enough people like that out there and they should all be put away IMHO.

there are a few sites that will allow users to enter any cell number and send text messages. Legal? who knows but no doubt not a good thing.

Its most likely what tsac said. There are services online that let you send prank text messages online and you can make the sending address whatever you want.

There's no way to hack a blackberry currently.
