I have had a new blackberry bold 9780 for a month - it worked fine on my old 2G sim card and emails mostly all came through fine until i was sent a new 3G sim card and from that moment onwards since last night when i phoned vodafone to activate the new sim card (i kept same phone number), i haven't received any emails on my blackberry since then! so frustrating! Anyway i did a hard reset (removed battery and sim card for 15 mins) still nothing! Facebook messages come through ok and i get texts ok but no emails!

Vodafone then suggested re-registering with blackberry - but i can't see where to re-register plus about 5 mins after contacting vodafone last night i got an blackberry message saying that the handheld device has been registered with the wireless network!

SOS! what can i do next? how do i confirm i am definitely registered with Blackberry (as vodafone indicated they couldn't find any trace of me / or couldn't access the register - i forget which of these was the problem indicated by vodafone)

I just did a 'launch email setup' and response was 'exception report' -'this server encountered an internal error that prevented it from fulfilling this request' followed by a load of computer blurb.....

I have a strong signal and 3G is indicated at top RHS of screen.

Try logging into Vodafone Bis and verify that your device info is correct and resend the service books.

Make sure they put you on a Blackberry data plan and not a cell phone data plan. Can you use BBM text ( not standard text messages) or the browser?

(ACTUALLY SKIP THE FIRST BIT NOW AND SEE UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Well so far i have gone onto vodafone bis (thank you for that tip as i didn't even know that part of the vodaphone website or whatever it is, even existed - shame vodafone don't give its customers the full details! how was i to know what website they were talking about when customer service lady said yes register on 'the' website!!!) and so I registered on there and tried to change the device to new but an hour later it still doesn't recognise the device! arrgghhhh although in the process of doing various things over the last 1.5 hours three new messages came through in connection with the blackberry query (not sure if they were emails though???).

Then bizarrely just now when i checked yet again, TSAC's reply has come through as an email and shown up on my Blackberry!

So maybe just maybe we may have a breakthrough here! i will send yet another email to myself to test the system!!

UPDATE - MAJOR BREAKING NEWS:

Well YEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WE HAVE A MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH and it is working again!

Yes thank you, that's the AOL that i don't want. It was my old AOL pages with a seperate AOL internet icon (so i could in fact access internet via Internet explorer or via AOL). I was using the AOL pages that i wanted literally up to 4 weeks ago when my pc died on me and now i have a new pc and have lost access to my lovely old aol pages.

The version i want restored has a sign-on page like hopefully the first of the two attachments i've attached.... and has a different and far more pleasing feel to it than the AOL version you suggested (which i'm currently and begrudgingly using! lol...) I'm determined i'll retrieve it somehow! lol - if you know anymore please let me know.. (The second image may actually be of an instant messaging screen which i don't care about, but it was part of the whole AOL version i could access, just in case it helps you assist me further)....

Glad to hear it is now fixed. In respect to the aol problem you may wish to use their support forums. I myself have little experience in using it.

Apparently AOL does have a separate browser designed for them by Microsoft. See if this helps. It is version 8 and I cannot finds an earlier versions.
I found this using Google with some of the key words you stated in your post. I cannot see the screens you posted, they show too small. hopefully these are the screens you are looking for.

Hi Sytner and TSAC,

I am having JOY all round - Blackberry issues all sorted out and also sorted out my AOL! i happened to check what version they were now up to - my last version was version 9 - and so i've now rather easily afterall that downloaded version 9.6 (not the most current version but i like to play safe and use a tried and tested version! lol) - i'm so happy now and feel i'm at peace with the internet and my new pc and mobile! lol
