I have (as stated above) an 8330 that will not charge. Last week I fell asleep using Pandora and listening to music. I woke up to my phone telling me my battery was low. I tried my USB on my laptop: the indicator didn't change. Moved to my wall charger: same thing.
I removed the battery, it booted and then said "Battery drained. Shutting down handheld."
I figured my battery was shot, ordered a new one and it won't charge. I swapped batteries with my wife's 8350 and my phone works just fine, except my phone still won't charge.
I've had this phone since Christmas and never had a problem with it. It's not under warranty because it's a used phone from my mother-in-law. Help is greatly appreciated.

If you plug the phone into a computer can you communicate with it through usb?

Unfortunatelt, no. Nothing works to charge it. I've had to swap batteries between my phone and my wife's to have a full battery.

It sounds like there could possibly be a problem with the charging circuit in the device to me, which unfortunately isn't fixable if it is.

You could get an external charger for the battery though; Amazon.com: BlackBerry Micro USB DX-1 Extra Battery Charger for BlackBerry 9500, 8500: Cell Phones & Accessories.

I am no expert with the 8330 but yep external charger as Sytner recommends.
I had same problem with my 8830. It came back to life after a few hard boots. Now I have to keep plugged in at night if listening for 5 hours or more otherwise BB goes completely dead and if it goes beyond the "you better recharge me know or else stage" it is a pain in the butt to bring back to life. Could always buy a new battery but probably same crap

Good to know. Sytner, what is the external charger? Is it like the PowerMat products that are out now? Like a drop and charge device?

No you remove the device's battery and place that into the charger which in turn is plugged into USB via your wall charger.
Also it's probably not a bad idea to have another battery so that you can cycle one so that you can still use your phone whilst charging your other battery.
