When I click directly on a link using the internet, it does not go through. I instead, have to manually connect by using the Blackberry button>Go to link.

I have no other issues with use of the center button for the phone. It works fine for all other phone functions, except when using the internet.

Is there a way to fix this problem?

I encounter this sometimes. But if it is happening all the time with all links, do the standard browser troubleshooting (delete cache and cookies) and then do a hard reset (with power on, remove battery for at least 30 seconds).
