I have a Torch and when I open a new message, it doesn't go to the newest message and I have to scroll down and down to get to the new message.

Information from RIM.

Most recent SMS text message is not displayed when opening a conversation
Article ID: KB25528
BlackBerry® Torch™ 9800 smartphone

On an existing ongoing SMS text message that already contains several chat histories, a new incoming text message in the same thread is not displayed above the text input box. Instead, when the conversation is opened, several dozen messages from the history are displayed, or it defaults to somewhere in the ongoing thread.
