Hi guys, i just gotten my torch a few days ago so im not sure if its supposed to be like that or something's wrong.

the problem is i can't seem to change my ringtone and alerts. even though i've set it to a certain tone and saved it, the phone still plays another sound. is there anything that i can do??

on some BB's that means a corrupted OS. Just in case I included the ringtone set process. Have you added any Apps that may be in conflict?


On the Torch
1. On the Home screen, click the Sound and Alert Profiles icon.
2. Click Change Sounds > Sounds for Selected Profile > Ring Tone.

3. Press the blackberry key > Save.

so far, i've only got 2 apps. bebuzz free and a torchlight app. if its a corrupted os, then how do i solve that?

Ixxx8217;m not able to tell you anything about BeBuzz but doesnxxx8217;t that control alerts. Maybe it needs to be looked at.

It could be BeBuzz. That does seem to interact with alerts, audible as well as LED. Not sure about ringtones:

I would take a look at the settings in BeBuzz to see if it may provide an answer. I do not personally use it so I can't tell you from experience. Just a thought....

Also to answer the question on OS replacement. The FAQ site offers help.
The process involves replacing the OS and the simplest method is to either upgrade or if you choose downgrade. Remember to selectively do a backup. Also I would reload the Apps fresh and not from a backup. Before you do load the Apps try the BB and see if your issues are gone. If they are at least you will know one of the added apps is causing the problem.
