Please Login to Remove!

Hi
I'm traveling to S A and have a 9630 without an active plan. (was Verizon) I'm hoping to just purchase a card and let it rip.
Question Do I need to have it unlocked???

Thanks for the help

The Tour came unlocked. You can pop a local pre-paid SIM card into it and use it for voice and sms, but no data services. No email, bbm, mms, facebook, web browser, etc.

Hi R
I did the unlock check according to instructions and it says sim card disabled which means it is locked. I thought only the Sprint version is unlocked

Disabled mean unlocked. The old 8830 world-phone BlackBerry was the last one IIRC that came with the GSM portion locked. All others have come unlocked, at least on Verizon and Sprint.

The Verizon Tours and Bolds are not sold in an unlocked condition.

They must be unlocked in order to use the GSM side on the device.

If it reads "Inactive" or "Disabled" next to "Network" on the SIM Card screen, then the device is unlocked.
