Had trouble connecting to hotel wifi on GF's BB curve 8900 at weekend - went through several motions and never managed to get connected but arrived home Monday to find a load of spam bounces in her AOL inbox (registered with BB).
Initially thought this was a simple spoof but the spam has actually gone out to her entire AOL contacts list which suggests that the account had been properly compromised.
While running multiple antivirus scans on her laptop to rule this out I thought it worth posting here to see if anyone can advise.
Is it possible through a bumbled WiFi hotspot set up (I remember at one stage being asked to confirm a certificate and to create a keystore password) to inadvertently provide a hacker access to your AOL account details?
I really hope not and would assume that BB has better idiot proof security but would appreciate confirmation.
Many Thanks, M
