Default changed devices. can't delete e-mail acct. on old one.

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded from an 8530. Once it was deactivated, i can't go to email setup to delete my email account. Is there a way to delete this without being hooked up to the internet?

Did you upgrade to a new BB or another device?

If to a non-BB, call Verizon, explain the situation and have them cancel your BIS account. Then change the email account password and wipe the BB.

I changed to a 9300 when alltel changed to att&t in our area. I transferred everything from the old to the new with desktop manager. I just can't get rid of the email account from the old one.

Please update your profile asit still says that you have an 8530 on Altell.

What old email account? If you did not cancel your BIS account, then it is still active and you need to call and have it canceled. In your case, I don't know who has control since you switched from Altel to AT&T.

But if you change the password on the account, email cannot be accessed on the old BB.

Is this a blackberry.net address? You can simply delete the service book for it in your list of service books in Options >Advanced Options >Service Book. However, as suggested above you should really call alltel and have the BIS account deleted as anyone who later wants to use that 8530 (including you) will not be able to add an email address to it until it's cancelled.

the account is a hotmail account. I still use it on the new device. I can't delete off of the old one because I can't hook up to the email setup to delete it.

If you have it working on the new one then it is cancelled on the old one.

Simply wipe the old device.

Depending on the OS version it will be in Options >Security Options >Security Wipe or Options >Security Settings >General Options >menu key >Wipe Handheld.

If you don't want to wipe the entire device, just delete the service book for that email account. Options >Advanced Options >Service Book.

John,

Thank you very much. Never really knew what the service book was. I did as you said and got rid of the account on the old device. It's nice to have people that knows what's going on.
