A client has a 9800 torch and the keyboard works intermittently while the "cursor" doesn't work at all. I don't know if the BB was dropped or if there is any physical damage but does this sound like a warranty issue? I got the client to remove and insert the battery but that didn't fix the issue.

If it is new or still under warranty bring it back. One thing to check first is the water damage indicator. If it is RED most carriers wont replace it free.

Well I have no clue what was going on but after re-activating the phone the problem went away. Not sure what broke exactly but there was no physical damage to the BB.
