unlocked BOLD9000 will not connect to WIFI
I have a Bold 9000 unlocked from Rogers in Canada.
I have a BIS plan with Telus in Canada.
I activiated a prepaid plan from AT&T wireless and placed the SIM card in the phone. At first, the phone made calls and texts and connected to the data network. Blackberry data such as BBM did not work.
The prepaid plan is not a BIS plan. I understand that is why the browser worked without any blackberry services.
A couple days later, i tried to connect the phone via WIFI.
When connecting to the router I see a little "black box" with a white dash to the right of the mobile network and WIFI indicators. There is a check mark in both the boxes to the left.
On the screen I see both the AT&T logo and the WIFI network notices above the time on the home screen. It also shows 3g and wifi logo in the upper right corner.
When I try to connect to the browser I get the following message:
"Unable to find the requested server"
If I turn WIFI off and use the mobile network connection i get the following message:
"You are not currently in an area that can handle data communication. As a result the browser cannot retrieve any Web pages.
Please try again when you are in a different location, or contact your service provider if the problem persists."
I called tech support at AT&T but they say the problem is with the device.
Any help would be appreciated. I know that BB data will probably not work over WIFI with the ATT sim card in but I would like to access the browser.

AT&T requires a BB dataplan before sending the WiFi service books.
