We use text messages for work. When I receive a new message it does not automatically open. When I open messages the prior message will typically open, not the new one. I have checked the box to open the newest message when phone is removed from a holster and this has not changed anything. I also have tried the after sound or vibration option. How can I get the newest text message to just open up on the screen when it is received. My phone is often on a work surface and not even in a holster. I have searched a lot of forums and it seems that people have the opposite problem, messages open when not wanted.

The only way is to remove from holster within 15 seconds of receiving. This auto opens the message.
If not in holster, there's no way, and after 15 seconds, removing from holster won't auto open.

I do have a Verizon case for the phone, but it is not a true "Blackberry" case. There is a magnet in it. I still do not get the auto open with it. Apps that might help with this, besides the iPhone clone app.

Check under Messages > Options > General Options for the "Auto Open Newest Message After Removing Device From Holster" and make sure it's set to Always.

Does sliding your BB into the case immediately put it to sleep, screen off?

I do have it set to "always". The phone does not go to sleep when placed into the case. I read about people having an issue with a new message opening whether or not the phone was in a case. I would prefer this if possible.
