Exclamation Bold 9000: BB Software hangs while 'initializing device'

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I've just got a Bold 9000 and everytime I plug-in the BB via USB cable it starts to connect with the Software and then makes no progress past "You've connected a new Blackberry device: Initializing device..." I'm at my wit's end!

My laptop recognises my BB. I have downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Software (Version and re-installed 3 times. I have downloaded latest drivers for the BB (Version through device manager. I've turned off the power manager controls for the USB root hubs.

I'm running a Lenovo T410 laptop with Windows 7. Any genius ideas??

Many thanks

Default Re: Bold 9000: BB Software hangs while 'initializing device'

Same problem, Verizon Curve 8330 with upgraded OS 5.0, Windows Vista Business.
Interesting fact: created new user profile for test purposes, works w/o issue.
However, I cannot simply abandom my old profile, too much work recreating it.
Also, I is unimaginable that there is no way to trouble shoot the problem. I have desktop manager log, see many errors there but I am not sure how to read them and are they consequential or inconsequential to the new device initialization problem. Can someone help?
