Same problem, Verizon Curve 8330 with upgraded OS 5.0, Windows Vista Business.
Interesting fact: created new user profile for test purposes, works w/o issue.
However, I cannot simply abandom my old profile, too much work recreating it.
Also, I is unimaginable that there is no way to trouble shoot the problem. I have desktop manager log, see many errors there but I am not sure how to read them and are they consequential or inconsequential to the new device initialization problem. Can someone help?
