Hello! could you help me please? I have a problem, my 9700 bold has a black screen with the red led apearing and desapearing> I tried to wipe with JL_Cmder and it and it says error "unable to open port". I tried hundreds time but didn't wipe. When I started the apploader it worked untill the step "wait for device initialization and in that point gaved me the message "Application Loader was unable to connect with your device. Please re-connect your device, enter the password if required and click Enter". I searched on the forum and opened a command line and changed the directory to C:\Program Files\JL_Cmder. I typed javaloader.exe -u wipe. I pressed enter to submit the command. I pressed the up arrow and enter over and over again. Eventually the command should had been taken and I could load the OS again and start from there but it showed the same problem "Application Loader was unable to connect with your device. Please re-connect your device, enter the password if required and click Enter". I have more than 24 hours trying to solve this. I tried many advices but nothing worked yet. I changed four usb cabled, changed two computers, swiched off the battery fifty times and nothing. What should I do? Can you give an advice? Thank you from my heart!

What did you do just before this began?

in fact I borrowed it to my cousin for half an hour and he said that it showed the red led and black screen when he took it out of his pocket. He just made a few calls and put it in his pocket. He said so, and I believe him. What do zou think. There is no sign it was dropped.

what makes me wonder is why the computer sometimes recognize it and sometimes not, and I cant get the 507 error to reload the os. Can I wipe it directly from command prompt? I tried this only from a computer, I can try it from the other one.

You can update or reload the OS at any time provided DM will be able to see the BB via a data connection. I would reload the OS andhope it was not dropped. Also charge the battery for a full day before doing anything. If the battery was allowed to run down a lot it may be defective and need replacing.
