Default Problem updating email account

Hi there,

I need help. I have a Bold 9000. Our company has just migrated to a new hosting provider and I went into my device's email setup options to update my settings for the new email server. It says that the account is invalid (or information is incorrect) when I change the settings to the new provider. It will not allow me to update the server from IMAP to POP. Further, I cannot create a new account as my email account name has not changed.

Would it be easier to delete the account and start again? If I've backed up the mail in that account can I merge that data with the new account once I've recreated?

Your email is controlled by a service called BIS ( Blackberry Internet Service)unless you have a corporate server called BES( Blackberry Enterprise Service). My guess is you are having trouble because the old email address is still configured on the carriers BIS site and you need to access that and change the email information. You will need the password used to set up the original configuration. Contact the carrier for information on how to access their system.
