I have just happily purchased a Bold 9780 and set up my email, although sent emails from my BB are not making my sent box on my PC and vice versa. I have been told by my service provider that because I am not linked to blackeberry server this is not possible.

Is this true.
Will mobile me work or simular? The email programme I am using is outlook 2010.

Are you talking about your personal emails like yahoo or gmail hotmail etc or this outlook account is from your employer?
If you are trying to sync up the yahoo/gmail etc then use Email set up app that is on your blackberry and once that is done you will see the sent items in your those (yahoo/gmail) accounts.
But if you are using redirector then I am not sure about this because most people say that Redirector does not work and RIM never supported it.
Top of everything please make sure that you have the "Blackberry" data plan from your provider and all the service books are there. you should have uppercase 3G, EDGE, GPRS on your conection on device and that will tell you that you are on Blackberry network. Also you will see the Blackberry logo next to signal tower on blackberry home screen.

It adds additional costs to your plan, but it's worth it if you absolutely need syncing. I have a MobileMe email account on my BlackBerry and it works very well. Sent items from my BlackBerry appear in my Sent folder in Mail.app on my Mac, but that doesn't happen with every email account. Email providers like Apple and Google have been upgrading so some of these syncing features work with BIS, and Yahoo mail has augmented BIS integration as well. It *should* work for these accounts with Outlook, but the accounts have to be set up as iMAP accounts on your pc.

If you are on BIS and what your email that you send from the BB to show up on your PC client, log into your BIS account and edit each applicable email account to check "AUTO BCC". That will automatically send you a copy of the email you send from that account to the inbox on you PC email client.
