Hi all. Got a few probs with my new BB. I acquired it because i did have a Galaxy S but broke that yesterday so have this for the moment. Think i might keep it if i can get it running properly because i really wasnt impressed with the Galaxy.

First off, i tried to download BB App World, but it isnt anywhere to be found. Thought it should have been in downloads but its not, but it is listed under applications in the options menu.

Secondly, i cant set up my email on it, when i try, it just comes up with a box saying 'your device had a problem connecting to te server'

And thirdly, i downloaded facebook for it through the internet, but it comes up with a box saying 'you are currently on a service plan that does not support this application. If you want to use this application, please contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan', any help anyone can give me?

Im guessing the prob is down to the fact that my sim is on a service plan for the Galaxy S. Just wondered if anyone has any ideas on how to get round any of this?

PS just realised i need to have 'blackberry data plan', if i phone and ask for this, will they be able to put it on even though im supposed to have a Galaxy S??

You need to contact your Service Provider and change your plan to a BlackBerry Data Service (BIS).

The service provider won't care that you are "supposed to have a Galaxy S".

If you got the BB from your provider than there might have been a problem with the activation - try dialing *228 and then following the prompts to "activate" your phone - I would also do a battery pull before the activation

HI pipo, got a BB curve 8520 everything was working perfect now this tym it is giving problems with sms and mms'.I ve abt 50 mgs and can't retrive them.I ve tried to turn it off and on pull out the battry but nothing,plis help.

Do the battery pull with the power on. Wait 30 seconds or more before replacing the battery. If you've already done that, then do it again a wait a couple of minutes. Then let's see what we got.
