I am transferring my sim card (Rogers) from a BB 8700r to a BB 8900. However It does not appear to be functioning on the 8900. How do I connect to the Rogers network?

You ought to first off get a SIM card swap from Rogers, that will often work, and is the least invasive thing you can do for starters.
