Default Problem with 8520, A Button

Please Login to Remove!

Have a problem with my bb Curve 8520, had problems with the A key on the key pad, which is also used to lock the phone with the asterik key.

For a couple of weeks every time I pressed the key it would continue to type the letter A a few times even though I only typed it once. This would also become annoying when trying to lock the phone and loads of asterik's popped up. The phone would eventually lock but after a few tries. Sometimes the phone would lock, without me even pressing the key.

Now the key just won't work, at all. Obviously I can lock the phone using the app in the menu but without the asterik key i can't get the phone unlocked which means i won't lock it. Also i can't type in the letter A whilst doing messages. Any idea how to fix this problem?

Any ideas how to fix this problem.

In the last few weeks the phone has developed other problems.

1. The backlight stays on sometimes and eats up the battery, i have no idea why it does this.
2. If i turn the phone off I can't get it on turn back on withy the usual red phone key. I have to take the battery out and start it up agan to turn it back on
3. It randomly locks itself for no reason

At this point I'm considering getting rid of it but only a year into a 18 month contract

If it got wet and you did not dry it properly before replacing the battery/power, then there is not much you can do. The problems will just likely continue.
