Default BB News Feeds Integration w/ Messages

Please Login to Remove!

So I go to Options, select Yes to "Integrate with Messages Application," save changes and close. No change. Repeat steps. No change. Hard reset. No change.

Any ideas? I'd like to try getting news items in my Messages list for a while.

by default BB Feeds is set to a 2-hour update interval. You can go into settings and change it, or use the Menu key in BB Feeds to update manually. I've never tried integrating feeds into Messaging, but that should work.

I thought of that, too, and changed it to 5 minutes. No luck.

It's certainly not a deal breaker for me, but it would be convenient.

The integrate-with-messages-application feature only works with the feeds for which you have set an alert. So, if you subscribe to 10 feeds and have set an alert on 2, those two will appear in your messages folder. If you have no alerts set, then that is the explanation.

Excellent.

Post an update on what you think about the alerts and the integration.

I stopped doing both awhile ago. I didn't see the benefit, at least not to me, of the integration. On the alerts, early on there were problems with the app where it would have to download all the feeds again, lose track of what had been read and what had been deleted, etc., and the alerts would get cleared. I just quit resetting them.

I haven't had the problem with the feeds resetting in a while. That probably was fixed in an update along the way. The problem with the alerts clearing may have been fixed as well, but I don't know.

I subscribe to quite a few feeds, but only set alerts on three to start. So far, it's seamless.
