I bought a 16 gb mass storage media chip to put all my music on, but when I put the chip in, enable mass storage on my BB, and plug in through USB to my computer it won't recognize. I don't have any of the CD's with the drivers on them right now because i'm out of the country. I need my music!!

If you guys could provide a link with the drivers that allow my mass storage chip to be recognized, or just a step by step process to get this baby working so i can start putting my music on it, that would be so great!

running on windows xp professional 2002 sp3, blackberry curve 8310

i just downloaded the usb drivers from the blackberry website and installed them, restarted the pc, got the media card formatted and on the right settings etc on my BB, plugging it in and still nothing happens, PC's not recognizing it.

also it's worked before in the past if that means anything. i'm on a new computer in a new country without any of my packing or discs from when i bought the BB

Did you buy a bargain-basement memory card? Sounds to me like it's just cheap tech. Does your BlackBerry recognize all 16GB of the card?

nope this is a san disk micro sd card HC, 16 gb. the BB recognizes 14.8 gb of the 16gb card as free space (i'm assuming the other 1.2 gig is for used in formatting and other stuff)...

bottom line is my windows xp doesn't think i've installed the drivers. i've downloaded a bunch of different drivers from the blackberry website (blackberry usb and modem drivers ENG versions 4.5, 4.6, 6.0, 6.1).. and i've downloaded desktop manager 6.0 (the 118 mb .exe file). when i go into device manager it shows me the RIM device with a question mark next to it, and when i click it, it says the proper drivers haven't been installed.

when i plug it in, it says its finding the RIM BB device, and a hardware wizard pops up, but it can't find any drivers and doesn't allow me to navigate my computer to find other drivers.

Just take the card out of the BlackBerry and use a card reader in the computer to read it.

i don't think i have a card reader.. i'm not even sure what that is.

Go to the store and buy one. They are inexpensive.
