| | Bold 9700 Unresponsive - Flashing Red Light

I have a fairly recent Bold 9700 from Bell Mobity that has gone dead. I've been looking around trying to get it to turn on.
Phone is dead, won't turn on, flashing red light at a 10010101001 interval (1-3-1).
Phone is unresponsive otherwise, bricked.
Tried the Alt-Shift-Del trick. Nothing
Tried to pull the battery, replace. Nothing
Tried to hook it via USB to the computer to reinstall. Computer and BB Software does not show it at all. (Tried with battery in and out)
Phone was not dropped nor has any water damage (as per the strips inside).
Left the battery out all night. When I plugged it in this morning, still nothing.
In my search, I've found a thread, which describes a similar situation. I'd link, but I'm not able to. w.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F
So I've downloaded the required software, and gone through some steps. Because the Jl_Cmder won't connect, I went through the manual steps without success. I got through the command line stuff, launched with loader.exe /nojvm no problem. However, the drop down menu is blank, no matter what USB port I plug in to.
Without a "USB:UNKNOWN" option, how do I force the wipe? What a pain... I need some help, PLEASE!
