Default Buying and Selling help!

My names Scott and I work on a buying counter in a "Cash Generator" Store, we buy and sell most items of value including mobile phones. One make of phone we don't buy are blackberrys, mainly because of the email & BBM pin code.

I want our store to start buying and selling blackberry mobile phones, what we need to know if someone more knowing in Blackberrys can help us with a few pointers on what to consider when buying them.

I have a basic understanding of Blackberrys and the way that their email accounts are linked via the PIN, is it easy to remove these pins even if we are not the original owner? As I understand its called "Releasing" the pins and has to be done by the mobile provider.

I have read through several other pages and topics on this forum but could not find anything that hits the nail on the head for buying AND selling, with regards to getting the phone released from the BIS account.

Any help will be much appreciated and will get me brownie points with my boss!

Cheers guys

Not sure there is any certain solution. Every provider has different policies.

Most you can hope for is the original owners PIN has been properly released / decomissioned which must be done by them by contacting their provider.

Then there is the matter of stolen / lost devices. There is no way for the original owner to release the PIN.
The Search tool and BlackBerryFAQ answer many questions.

Unfortunately there is no online registry of banned/deactivated PINs for BlackBerry buyers.

Here's another problem: You can buy a BlackBerry from somebody and AFTER the sale he can then report it stolen, right up until the time it gets activated on a new account. In that case the PIN gets blacklisted and the device is useless.
