Enter the wrong password repeatedly and when max allowed attempts are exceed the BlackBerry will wipe. Let it wipe. All data, including password setting, will be cleared.

As to the power problem, if it was left alone with the battery inserted for a long time, you might need a new battery. Get an new, OEM one made for the device, not a cheap knock off.

Thank you for yor answers, but perhaps because of my limited technical knowledge i did not explain myself clearly.
There is no problem with the battery. The problem is with the password. When i power the Blackberry i insert the password and the phone comes on and i can use it with no problems. But if i leave it alone for a minute (or less) it will require to insert the password once again if we want to use it. This is repeated over and over. If i go to security option/ general setting, the password is enabled. But we don't remember "that" password so we cannot change it or disable it. Because ot it we fell we cannot give the phone to our friend. It is impossible to use with the phone requiring the passord over and over in order to use it and leave it resting for a few moments. Hopefully i explain this a bit better.

Thank you

Do as said above, enter the wrong password 10 times and the device will wipe itself and return to factory settings.

By the way, we did reset the password by inserting the worng password to bypass the old passowrd and changed it. It allowas to turn the phone on but cannot keep the phone on if we wanted because in the general setting the password is "Enabled" whatever it means. What we whant to do is to be able to leave the phone unlocked so that we can give to a friend that can use it.

Thank you

Dear Moderator, we have tryed that as i mentioned above but the phone cannot be disabled because of the passord we had originally set. It turns off continuously and requires the password every time. How can we disable the old passord from the general setting if we don't remember the old password?
Thank you

I think now i can explain better. In Option/Security Options/General setting/Password. Password: the word "Enabled" is highlited when i change the password to a new password it will not let me change it. it asks me for the password and when i try to change it it tells me, incorrect password. I must use again the password that i inserted when the phone rebooted. I am trying to change the "Enabled" to "Disabled". Is it possible? All I am trying to do is to keep the phone on at all times.

Thank you
