so i went to sell my blackberry curve 8530 and called boostmobile to reset or wipe the phone, thought i would post the results here

before you begin you will need your msl - i called boost and asked for it

first sync your contacts to something, I used Google sync
www/google/com/mobile/sync

then make sure you've backed up your pictures and music and anything else you want.

then dial ##786 and call

a pop up will come up saying enter msl -- type it in

the phone will go on and on for close to 5 minutes wiping and resetting then it will boot as if you had just pulled the battery

if you already have service e.g. put your meid into boost or sprints website or called your carrier it should automatically provision then you can begin the setup process

the other thing i found was that if you go to sell your blackberry DO THIS!!

you can just goto their website and change your meid by a number or two till you find an unused one. mine ended in 4 i changed it to a 6 and was able to pull it out of the account without any problem

Why not just do a security wife on the phone itself?

Boost Mobile also suggests the standard Blackberry wipe along with a full backup using DM. It seems even more weird that there is zero information on their site on these codes. It looks like a scam.
