OK. Because you got EDGE (all caps) with your SIM and the old pearl, I assume you have a BlackBerry data plan.
Do you have a BlackBerry plan on your T-Mobile account? Not just a regular mobile data plan, but data service specifically for BlackBerrys?
And are you using T-Mobile USA. I can't see your profile.
If you have a BlackBerry data plan, you should only need to change the device PIN in your BIS settings and make sure service books are sent to the handset. If you've done that, and done a hard reset, then it's time to call T-Mobile and have them check over your account on their end.
