Post BB PIN Question

Please Login to Remove!

Hello i Got Used BB Torch! I Wipe it and erase any data on it!!

I unlock this phone! for a gift for a cousin in mexico.

I called AT&T and they told me that the IMEI was already register! but that t This do not affect nothing on the BB if it goes to mexico Also The person told me that he erase An Email account or something From The Register of the Previuos owner account Does this mean that AT&T release the PIN? I mean do they delete the OLD BIS from the previous owner so Another BIS could be register in mexico? After he did that he told me the phone it was totally mine!!

Can i check if the PIN is free with a regular AT&T or T-mobile Regular SIM CARD? (Without the a BB PLAN)??

The original owner has to call the carrier and get the PIN released. BlackBerrys get their data from RIM through the carriers, so everyone authenticates through RIM. That's why a BlackBerry can only be associated with one BIS/BES account at a time, regardless of the carrier or country. Eventually it all goes through Waterloo.

I was talking with att for a long time till they send me to a BB specialist and i talk to him a lot! Obvious he told me that the BB IMEI was register! but that this will no affect and that he Delete Something from the Previous owner! so i could use to mexico! So he Delete the BIS FROM THE PREVIOUS owner? bECAUSE he told me i could use BIS and BBM when i the phone gets there!!

But can the Mobile carrier in mexico Call RIM/AT&T To Release the PIN??

Probably not. It usually has to be done by the previous owner, but sometimes AT&T will do it for a new owner. That sounds like what the AT&T rep did for you.

There is no other way to check. Either you take the rep's word for it or activate it on your own account. No other way to check. RIM can't help as this is an issue with the carrier.

AT&T has removed your BB pin from its BIS network, that means the Pin has been released, and your Torch is ready to be added to another carriers service and registered to its network.
