Unhappy Rescuing my address book contacts - HELP!

Please Login to Remove!

I am a remote/home worker. My employer recently forced me to switch from my beloved Blackberry (currently a 9700) to the iPhone - as I have acrylic nails I'm not the happiest person in the world about that to begin with. Now I'm facing the problem of transferring my contacts.
I understand that RIM intentionally have kept mobile device security quite tight. My problem appears to be that while I have and use MS Outlook it is located on a remote central server and the Blackberry desktop manager software doesn't seem to work for this setup. As I have around 250 contacts (and some with several phone numbers/email addresses) I'd rather not spend hours copying them all individually to the SIM card, losing some data along the way and then have to copy the card contents via a USB reader as the iPhone uses a microSIM card.
My IT department tell me that once I give them my contacts as a generic csv or ASCII file they can input them into my Outlook profile on the server. So I read your forum's "Converting Blackberry contacts into a CSV file?" thread which dates back to 2006-8; unfortunately it doesn't really help as the applications mentioned therein (nView Desktop Manager & ABC Blackberry Converter) are either only available bundled with nVidia hardware or cost a minimum of $49 which I'd rather avoid spending on this "simple" task.
Any advice/helpful tips would be much appreciated.

The (free) Blackberry Desktop software, aka Desktop Manager, can export your contacts (and calendar, tasks) as ASCII. I haven't done it in a while and don't remember if it is comma delimited, tab delimited, or either/or. Get Desktop Manager from blackberry.com and check it out.
