Hi, i had a bold 9700 for 13 months which was unfaulty, until the girlfriend threw it against a wall, a couple of weeks ago i brought a 9780 off ebay, 3 weeks old for 195.

so ive got the phone looks in perfect condition, but it freezes for about 60 seconds most the time when i go on the web browser, and even when i use the camera?

i plugged it into my computer to do the update, it ses urgent updates on the application side so i click apply and it does it then just stops, so i replug it in and try it again and it still ses it needs to be updated? obviously brought a dodgy phone but i have no other phone, it rings and tx's fine?

any ideas, thanks everyone!

Return it and get your money back. Appears to me that you bought someones problem.

he gave me a 8gb memory card with it, which i used, ive put in my 2gb one from my 9700 and it hasnt frozen yet?

could that have been doing it?

its not connection to my desktop manager at all though anymore, weird

two suggestions.

thats effort i cba to open a disbute and all that, think i fixed the freezing my changing my memory card, when i plug it into desktop manager it ses urgent updates, starts updating then just stops randomly, tried this numerious amounts of time, ive got a screen shot but cant post until ive done 15 posts.....

You're quite possibly dealing with a damaged BlackBerry. Returning it is your first best option.

If you want to continue to fiddle with it you can try wiping with JL_Commander and reinstalling the OS.

At the top of the 9700 forum there is a link to the latest OS for the 9780.

Recently I had to change my service provider because of disturbed services and accordingly I got the service provider lock opened from a registered BB shop. Then it accepted new service provider. But then it is getting frozen again frequently.

Try restarting it without the memory card installed. Either run it for a day or so with no microSD card or use a smaller cheaper one. 2GB cards are inexpensive. I have heard of cases where a bad microSD card can cause instability problems. Not common, but not unheard of either.
