Hi, new to Blackberry -need low tech help if possible. All was fine until I downloaded a ringtone ( one I used on my previous phone - just a music file). Then phone would hang up after on ring or on removing from the holster - phone was locked. Changed back to a preloaded ringtone and problem no longer there! Would like to think can use my own ringtone without issues - Can I? Help/advise appreciated.

not sure what you used for a ring tone but some are not compatible with blackberrys.

Please update your profile to indicate the correct model number of your BB,not the name. There are several different Pearls, starting with the 8100. I have edited the title of your tread to change "1905" to "9105" I assume that is what you meant.

Hi Tsac, thanks for replying. The ringtone is a simple MP3 and is listed on that link you sent. Someone suggested that the phone is not hanging up, just stopping ringing but not so - it is disconnecting the call. I am trying to understand how this can happen when the phone is locked and why a certain ringtone appears to be the trigger for this unwanted behaviour. Is it possible to fix this?? Would like to use my old ring tone.
