Phone randomly shutting down all of the time after updating to OS 6.0!

For the past 3 weeks my phone has been shutting down whenever it feels like it. A message appears on the screen that says, "battery too low for radio use. Phone shutting down." This happens when my phones battery is at 30% 10% and even happened at 70% recently. When this happens my phone completely shuts down and will NOT start back up past the start up screen until I charge it again. I was told this was happening because I didn't make the upgrade from OS 5.0 to OS 6.0, so I did the update. After doing this my phones battery only lasts two hours, and it STILL shuts down whenever it feels like, only it no longer shows me the message, "battery too low for radio use. Phone shutting down." It just completely shuts my phone down. Approx. 50 percent of the time this happens, it shuts my phone down completely and will start up with no problems right after. But the other 50 percent of the time my phone will NOT start back up, once again I have to charge it for it to start. Please, HELP!
I have heard of similar situations when the battery doesn't fit perfectly snug against the contacts. If the battery overheated during charging or roaming and swelled, it can deform just enough to make it fit improperly. Placing a paper shim along side the battery directly opposite the contacts has fixed this for some folks. Just a skinny strip of a business card should do it.
A replacement battery is another option. If the battery is damaged internally you might not have a choice. Try the paper shim trick first though.
The Battery usually drains because of heating or onli if there are 'open' apps which the user didn't close after using. You can close these apps, such as the radio by pressing and holding the option button (the button with the BB logo). After pressing, a bar should appear with the opened apps. Just select these and close them. If the problem is due to overheating just select the 2g network instead of the 3g network. Hope This message was useful. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
I still have this similar problem with my BB.. I've tried all your options and it dint work for me.. Will a new battery solve this problem? Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
Maybe. If you possibly (or maybe you even know) you got the BlackBerry wet, you need to deal with that. If so, see blackberryfaq.com.
Otherwise, try to borrow a battery first, for test, before spending any money. If you do buy a battery, buy a genuine BlackBerry battery from a reputable source. You don't have to pay full retail price, but don't buy the cheapest, either. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
