Default Blackberry Keypad Issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I'm having issues with my 8520 exactly like another user's post from yesterday:

"my curve 8520 keypad is messing around, i cant use the 't' key as for some reason it goes from being extremely sensitive e.g. i lightly touch it and t comes up) or just completely un responsive, it alters, and whenever i do manage to hit the 't' key it stays pressed, so if i try to move my cursor it just scrolls through the 't' symbols.

and to go with that, i cant seem to hold down the 'alt' or 'shift' keys at the same time with another key. e.g. i have to press 'alt', let go, and then press the symbol i want, same thing for 'shift', whereas normally i can just type while holding down the alt key :S

can someone help please? there hasn't been any water damage either btw."

Now, I've done the battery thing once - and should note that the battery has been an issue for a while now, it dies in mere minutes of being unplugged. I know I need anew one. But as said above, the "t" is NOt working - I've to copy/paste it. the Alt key only works if I click it and let go and even the keyboard lock doesn't work unless I click and let go, and that usually takes a few times to unlock.

Other than sweat from my pocket and typical Florida humidity, I dunno what to do. My sis is diabetic, our car battery just died and I cannot afford a replacement even with total Equipment Protection. I have a dead Blackberry that is the same model which used to be my sisters - I wish I could just reconfigure it to match mine.

I really need a solution... Preferably one that doesn't involve money. *sigh*

Is it under a year old? If so, it's probably covered under warranty. If there's no physical damage or moisture damage, then you should be fine.
Contact your carrier and see if they'll replace it for you.

Unfortunately it's over ayear by a few months as it were... I've a really bad feeling this is going to cost me one way or another. I just don't have the money - I might've if not for the car battery situation.

If it is moisture, do you know if that clears up or goes away? I'm going to try whatever I can before dollars I don't eve have start going toward this.

If it's moisture you are making it worse by using it before it dries completely. See the FAQ for what to do for a wet berry.
