Default edge in uppercase for only a few minutes

Hi. Please help!!!
EDGE stays in upper case only for a few minutes everytime i restart my phone then it switches to lowercase and all my services stop. im still being charged by this and i cant call the bb helpline because im on national roaming,.please help!!

gsm to GSM to edge to EDGE is the indication of service quality. GSM = full voice service
EDGE = full data service.

Call your carrier and make sure your service plans are correct.
