Default WAP spam

I have a wap symbol with the number 2 beside it on my screen and have not been able to read any web pages since their arrival. The pages get stuck at 'fully loaded'.
I am with Vodafone. How do I get rid of the WAP symbols and get the pages to load?
I am running the most up tp date version, have cleared all saved messages and do not get any WAP messages when doing the 'mark unread', date then 'read all unread messages' thing.
