Default deleting back up files from my PC

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

When I back up my 8520 curve to my PC, is the data (i.e. sms, calender, contacts etc) all stored in the .ipd file? The reason I'm asking is that I want to delete all of my old 8520 back up info from my PC (as I might sell the PC) and want to make sure that by deleting the .ipd file, I'm will be deleting all my 8520 back up info (or are there other files lurking somewhere on my PC which I also need to delete to get rid of all old 8520 back up info?)

Thanks for any help anyone can give me with this!

Yes. All the data from the backup is in the .IPD file.

Thanks for the reply. So, is the .ipd file the only one which is created when backing up a 8520? I'm just double checking as, since I made the original post, another BB user has told me that the .ipd file acts as a kind of master file and the specific detail from sms, contacts etc is held in other files which the .ipd file accesses when restoring. I'm a little confused now :( Any further help anyone can give me greatly appreciated...

The .IPD file contains all the back up data created when doing a device backup with BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

The "other BB user" is incorrect.

As stated, all of the data is in the IPD file. There are no other files. Another BB user is wrong.
