Default 8900 Mass Delete

Hi, I'm an utter noob here, and after receiving a hand-me-down 8900, I have a couple of questions that baffle me. Also, I'm new to the forum, so direct me to the corresponding thread if the questions have been answered.

1. I would like to sync my own contacts and delete the existing ones on this phone. However, the contacts have already been linked to a google sync account. So is there a way to delete all contacts without accidentally wiping it off the google account? Going a step further, how can I hook up my own google account instead?

2. The previous owner (family) also had two yahoo e-mail accounts synced, and I was wondering whether there was a way to completely rid this phone of these two accounts and their mails (again without actually deleting anything, just from this device).

Also, I'd like doing this without having to wipe or reset my device, considering I already have settings and other data on there that I don't really want to aggravate.

Thanks guys!

Default Re: 8900 Mass Delete

Without wiping the phone the best way to do it is hook the phone to your computer and in desktop manager then do a back up/restore and pick advanced. Looking at advanced you should see two windows, the one on the right is your device. Find the address book/calender you want to empty, click on it then choose clear.

You indicate you have TMO which means the email setup is on your phone. Just go in "setup/Internet email" and delete the email accounts you no longer want. You can also add any new ones you do want.

As for the messages, o into messages and in the option menu chose "delete prior". This will delete all messages prior to the date you chose...
