Question Lotus Notes address book sync woes

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent explanation of how this works? I've got into a right muddle with a user we just upgraded to a 9780.

He has 230 people showing in his names.nsf (Notes 6.5) but 291 showing in the backup he took off his old 8120 which I restored to his new 9780. I hit Actions > Sync Address Book in Notes which usually sorts everything out, but he's now showing 3 Desktop Address books on the 9780, one with 0 entries, one with 14 and the rest in the other one. I have no idea where these have come from! There are also entries in the Blackberry that aren't in the LN address book which I thought would have been sorted by the sync.

I tried wiping the device address book via DTM and retoring the 291 from the backup, but again I'm confused with the difference between Address Book, and Address Book All within DTM - I just one one address book with everything in it, that then syncs with LN via the Actions > Sync option within LN.

I've read in other threads here and on other forums about Service Books etc but to be honest this stuff goes over my head. Can anyone shed any light on this, or point me in the direction of a decent description of how this stuff works?

I can simplify the above request for assistance!

Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide that explains how the BB address book works? Such as why having restored from a backup and/or wirelessly sync'd with an email client, you get more than one address book showing as 'Desktop' in Contacts > Options, and how you manage these?
