I'm at a loss to find a solution to this, so I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have a Torch and lately (over the last month) I've found that I'm getting my emails +/- 10 minutes after they've been sent (including from my laptop).

Texts come instantly. Web-surfing is as per normal. In other words, there are no other network-related symptoms that I could associate with this problem.

One thing I will mention is that, when emails come in they come in batches. For example, let's say several emails between 12 noon and 12:15 are written and sent to me. I'll typically get *all* of them at once - say, at 12:16.

Hoping someone can help me out. I've tried everything (restoring/wiping, memory clearing, etc..).

Are you on BIS or BES?

If BIS, there is nothing wrong. Mail is pushed every 15 minutes. Once pushed, RIM checks again in 2 to 3 minutes and if mail is found, that is also pushed. this cycle continues until no mail is found on your server, at which time, RIM reverts tot he 15 minute cycle.

If on BES, maybe speak to your BES Admin about it.

I'm on BIS. I understand what you are saying, but I find it so odd because for the last few years that I've had a BB, when someone sent me an email I would get it *instantly*. Only recently have I had this issue.

The only thing I can think of is that my wireless contract ended with my carrier recently - but that wouldn't affect delivery, seeing as I'm still with them, just not on a contract any more.

Some ISPs have near real time agreements with RIM. Yahoo is one I think. If you have mail forwarded to your carier.blackberry.net address, then it might be faster, but that is not a good address to use. Why? No SPAM filters. No Webmail option. And the only way to read mail on that account is on the BB itself. When Data is down, so is that email account.

This is interesting because my carrier (Rogers) has a relationship with Yahoo. What doesn't necessarily make sense is that I migrated my internet service (and thus my email service) to another provider two months ago, which isn't parallel with when I started noticing the delay - would it be possible (because this is beyond my know-how) that I could have been switched to a "lesser" BIS service as a result? Just asking.

There is only one BIS service. As I said, some iSPs have arrangements with RIM for near real time. Perhaps you just didn't notice until now?
