New to BB family...help required

Hi All

I purchased a new Blackberry Curve 8520 recently.
I configured the wifi available in my house successfully.
BB shows that wifi is connected.
Also I changed the Browser settings to Hotspot Browser still I am not able to access the internet using my wifi :(
I always get the error as "Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider."

Please help me if any of you have faced similar issues and resolved it.

Thanks in Advance
PJ

A BlackBerry data plan is required to use the BlackBerry browser, even over WiFi. Contact Airtel and request that BlackBerry service be added.

Is there any Additional charge I need to pay for the Data Service to Airtel...?? Moreover I am intending to use Internet using my house Wifi Network so why should I be required to pay for the Data Plan to Airtel ??
I am already paying for my wifi :))

You will need to contact Airtel to find out the additional charge.
As to why you need a data plan, BlackBerrys are different than other phones.

To expand on the above, the BlackBerry is sold as (or should be sold as) the hardware tool for using BlackBerry services. You need to buy the data service specifically for BlackBerrys to use the BlackBerry services. So, WiFi on a BlackBerry is not meant to take the place of mobile network data, but supplement it.

As NJBlackBerry says, BlackBerrys are different.
