Search on white screen and read, and see if you find anything new. Distinguish between the all white screen, which sounds like what you have, and the white screen with an error message.

I know from experience that the all white screen while everything else appears to be working is not a software problem. I don't know what is involved in fixing the hardware, however.

I suspect the drop is what did it. It may have been the final shock of many, or maybe it just hit in the worst possbile way.
