Default AT&T Address Book

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

Just found out that I've been running two contact lists (AT&T Address Book and the default). The AT&T AB contacts won't sync to outlook, and I'm trying to copy all my contacts over to a new phone using a .csv (It's an Android phone)...

I can't figure out ANY way to get all of these AT&T contacts from my Blackberry - I can't export online, they won't sync to Outlook. Any ideas?!

Can't you setup AT&T Address Book on your new device and the contacts should show, at least, that's how I understand it. AT&T AB syncs to the cloud.

I'm moving to an Android device - I want nothing to do with the AT&T Address Book, I'm just trying to get my AT&T AB contacts to show up in Outlook or to be able to export them somehow.

I understand that you're moving to an Android device. What I am saying is that as long as that device is still on AT&T, you can login to the AT&T AB and those contacts will show on your Android device. AT&T AB is not just a BB thing.

No where on AT&T's site does it say anything about exporting contacts from their AB. You may want to contact AT&T for steps to do so. And if they give you the steps, please post back here to help others.

you can copy the addresses to most phones. If you intend to drop ATT you may have issues with this. The address book is stored on line and sync's to the phone not Outlook.

To access your AT&T Address Book contacts from your computer, activate AT&T Address Book on your wireless device. Then log in at att.com/addressbook, using your MEdia ID or your wireless phone number and associated myAT&T password

I'm having the same issues but with my BB Torch. I have 337 contacts synced on line with AT&T address book and my contact list. I then had to replace the Torch under warranty. To be able to sync the contacts using BB desktop with Outlook you cannot unless you can get the contacts back on your phone's memory because that is what the outlook desktop organizer data is syncn'g to. Unfortunately for me I my computer crashed at the same time and I was not able to recover the contact files I backed up. This is crucial when syncronizing the data back to your BB (or whatever phone) AT&T address book is cloud and it does not allow you to copy all of those contacts back to your phones memory. You will need to 1 by 1 enter the data back in to your phones memory to be able to see those contacts in your outlook again unless you backed up and restore your phone with backups of your contacts. This is what makes AT&T address book worthless when it comes to using with outlook and getting the contacts back on your phones memory (or sim card). Another words, AT&T address book contacts are not exportable. I hope this makes sense. Its really frustrating but it is what it is.
